Topic/Audience: Cablevision, the next Adelphia?

Executive Summary

As external consultants, hired by Cablevision’s management, we present to you, the Ethics Office, our analysis of your firm’s current business environment. Your responsibility has developed from the concern that Cablevision is following a path of unsound business judgment, moral dilemma, and potentially perilous ethical circumstances.

Our presentation highlights the current business practices of the Cable and Television Industry, with a strong emphasis on Cablevision’s current business dealings and future outlook. Our main concerns are internal conflict among management, a lack of Board oversight and control, and the firm’s recent erratic business model. Since Adelphia and Cablevision are similarly structured, Adelphia can be used comparatively for realigning Cablevision’s business strategies and direction.

The application of our external perspective enables Cablevision to objectively evaluate and refocus current business practices while upholding high ethical standards. The conferral of our analysis of your Voom Satellite-Television operation, recent real estate endeavors, and the bid to acquire Adelphia will assist you in regaining a clear operational and ethical focus.
