Topic/Audience: City of San Diego Pension Plan

Executive Summary

Union members and government employees have a responsibility to the public as well as to co-workers, their employing government agency, and other interested parties. Sometimes ethical dilemmas arise in their positions that cause conflicts between these responsibilities. At this year’s Leadership and Legislative Conference, we at Ethos Consulting will help you understand and define potential conflicts of interest and your fiduciary and ethical duties.

As a case in point, we will share with you events surrounding the current city of San Diego financial problems centering on the underfunding of its pension plan, financial disclosure misstatements, and current SEC, FBI, and U.S. Attorney investigations.

In closing, we will give you specific recommendations to understand your fiduciary responsibilities as well as ethical and legal obligations.
